About Ken
Ken Mensio is currently an Employee Benefits Consultant with the national employee benefits consulting firm, Chapman Schewe. Ken brings to Chapman Schewe a broad experience base that includes over 20 years of self-funding/ASO experience, as well as holding managerial positions within other organizations, and serving clients through a variety of sales and service roles. In 2001, Ken became President and founder of KM Consulting Group --an elite team of specialists dedicated to providing creative solutions to clients' problems. Ken holds a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation (CEBS) from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and served as the membership chair of the Houston Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS). Prior to starting KM Consulting Group, Ken served as Vice President for Houston Insurance Brokerage firm where he was responsible for the management of the employee benefits department, which included the department's revenues. In addition to Ken's management responsibilities, his duties included sales and service of key employee benefit corporate clients, market research, benefit analysis, financial analysis, due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions, implementation of employee benefit programs, and employee communication strategies. He began his career with The New England Employee Benefits Group in St. Louis, Missouri were he was responsible for developing and marketing self-funded medical plans and 401(k) retirement plans through insurance brokers in Oklahoma and southern Illinois. Additionally, he has several years of managed care experience with FHP Healthcare and Aetna. In his tenure, he was a sales leader, designed and implemented HMO and POS group health plans, conducted employee enrollment meetings, and assisted in the service of brokerage accounts. Ken graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
